DPR’s delegation during official visit to Crimea takes part in rally dedicated to 365th anniversary of Pereyaslav Council
On January 18, the DPR’s delegation took part in a solemn rally, which was dedicated to the 365th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Council and was held in Simferopol (Republic of Crimea, Russian Federation).
The delegation, which was headed by the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, included the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, Head of the “Donetsk Republic” faction, Chairman of the People’s Council’s Committee on Agriculture and Land Resources Valery Skorokhodov and Chairman of the People’s Council Committee for the Development of Civic Society, Public and Religious Associations, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Maxim Parshin.
Addressing an audience, Denis Pushilin underlined the fateful nature of the Pereyaslav Council and congratulated Crimeans on the holiday.
ʺI am grateful to our friends for political support that has been with us since the first days. This has much significance to us. When Russian people unite, they are stronger than anyone in the world. We will overcome all difficulties with honour and dignity. Happy holiday!,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
The Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov noted that it was possible to avoid repeating past mistakes due to the study and preservation of the Motherland’s history.
ʺThere were attempts to divide Ukraine spiritually 365 years ago by inculcating false ideologies. But those attempts were unsuccessful: it resulted in returning to homeland, to Russia. The Ukrainian people found the strength and a leader and managed to return to their historical homeland. We are united – the Russian and Ukrainian people. This is the story that made our country great,ʺ Vladimir Konstantinov said.
Vladimir Bidyovka underlined in a commentary to the People’s Council press service that it was important to draw society’s attention to traditions, spirituality and culture that were inherent in the Russian world.
ʺToday, we recall one of the most important historical dates, which has become an example of unity. The people supported unification 365 years ago: an inextricable religious and national link only confirmed that the Russian state was a reliable friend and ally.
Recent events show that Russia’s position has not changed. No matter how difficult the situation is, the brotherly state is ready to help, support and protect.
The residents of Crimea and the Donetsk People’s Republic made their choice – to be with Russia forever. I am deeply convinced that we will be able to preserve our culture, language, religion and traditions only in unity and close cooperation, only together we will be able to reliably protect our home, our small homeland,ʺ The Speaker of the DPR Parliament noted.
