DPR’s delegation meets with representatives of South Ossetia’s authority during official visit in Tskhinvali
On May 17, the delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic met with the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov as a part of working visit to Tskhinvali, the Republic of South Ossetia. The delegation was headed by the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, it included the Deputies of the People’s Council Vladislav Berdichevsky and Natalia Pshenichnaya.
During the meeting, the President of South Ossetia expressed a wish to visit the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to the hero of the Donetsk People’s Council Oleg Mamay in Donetsk.
ʺThank you for reverential attitude to the heroes of Donbass of different nationalities. I am grateful to the leadership of your Republic, which has decided to perpetuate the memory of “Mamay”, we very much appreciate it. On my part, I will try to come to the DPR and visit the unveiling of the monument dedicated to our hero,ʺ Anatoly Bibilov said.
Also, the delegation of the DPR met with the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Petr Gassiyev.
According to Petr Gassiyev, the activity of deputies during five years will be shown for the first time in the history of the South Ossetia’s parliamentarism.
ʺI would like to thank you for confirming your delegation’s participation as observers in the parliamentary elections, which will be held in June this year. I am sure that the elections to the Parliament of South Ossetia will show the world community that all actions concerning elections are held according to international law,ʺ Petr Gassiyev.
During the meeting, Vladimir Bidyovka presented an Order of Friendship to the Head of the South Ossetian Presidential Executive Office Igor Kozayev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmitry Medoyev on behalf of the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin.
ʺThank you for your invitation, it is important to all of us. South Ossetia was the first to recognize the DPR. A number of agreements on cooperation have been already signed by our parliaments and it will be useful for us to see and gain experience from our colleagues.
We stand in solidarity with you that the work of a deputy should be transparent and people should understand and see which way the country goes and who leads it. I also want to note that our parliament is always open to cooperation,ʺ Vladimir Bidyovka said.
