DPR’s delegation visits celebratory events dedicated to 5th anniversary of referendum on independence of Lugansk People’s Republic

On May 12, the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka and the People’s Council’s deputy Valery Skorokhodov arrived in Lugansk to take part in celebratory events dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the referendum on independence in the Luhansk People’s Republic.

In addition, official delegations from the Russian Federation, South Ossetia, and Abkhazia were present at the celebratory events. The member of the State Duma of the Federation Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsekov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federation Assembly of the Russian Federation, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, Konstantin Zatulin, deputies of the State Duma of the Federation Assembly of the Russian Federation Kazbek Taysayev, Andrey Kozenko, Natalia Poklonskaya, Deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Anna Rubel were among the guests, who arrived to take part in the celebratory events in the LPR. The delegation from the South Ossetia was headed by the President of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov, the Republic of Abkhazia – by the Prime Minister of Abkhazia Valery Bganba. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the DPR Natalia Nikonorova visited the events as a member of the delegation.

Vladimir Bidyovka underlined in his commentary to the press service of the People’s Council that the People’s Republics had not only a common history, but also they showed their unity in the struggle for their future, which they associated with the Russian Federation.

ʺThe Lugansk People’s Republic is marking its fifth anniversary. There is an inextricable link between our states and the link that is based on strong friendship and mutual assistance. We are united by a common history, a common struggle for truth and justice, and common victories. I am sure that the future of our Republics will be successful and prosperous.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish the Lugansk People’s Republic prosperity and well-being, to achieve all set objectives and, of course, peace. Happy holidays, friends, associates and brothers!,ʺ the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council said.

The official delegations took part in a commemorative event at the memorial complex “We will not forget! We will not forgive!”, attended a solemn meeting on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the Lugansk People’s Republic, which hosted an awarding ceremony, during the visit. In the framework of the event, Leonid Pasechnik presented a badge of honour “From the grateful people of the Lugansk People’s Republic” to the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka.
