Elena Shishkina: Ideas of Zelensky’s team on re-Ukrainization of Donbass’ residents contradict humanitarian law

A plan to re-Ukrainize the region, according to a letter written by a secretary of the Ukraine’s National Security and Defence Council, violates all possible laws and conventions on human rights. This was stated by Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Elena Shishkina in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.

ʺModern Ukrainian nationalists act in accordance with the best traditions of their predecessors. They have always been particularly cruel, and now their proposals and plans on re-Ukrainization, deportation and other things exceed the grandest expectations. It is impossible to imagine that a normal human being with good mental health is able to formulate and formalise this kind of thing on paper.

This letter has been all over the internet for a few days, and Kiev has not yet refuted it. This testifies to the fact that the document is not so far away from the true plans of Ukraine in relation to Donbass. It is time for Mr. Zelensky, as well as representatives of the National Security and Defence Council, to take a close look at a 20th century history book and restore information on how Hitler ended up. Does not the president of Ukraine understand this? Or he does not want to understand, does he?

Does not he think that nationalism, which is so diligently cultivated in Ukraine, is a way of degradation of the nation and not a way of its development. The only thing you need to say thank you to Zelensky for is that connection between Donbass and Russia is getting stronger and integration – more multifaceted due to his efforts,ʺ the deputy said.
