On December 8, the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation hosted an extended meeting of the Committee for Public Support of the Southeast of Ukraine. The event was devoted to discussing the issues of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of the Donbass, as well as further development of interregional cooperation with public organizations of the DPR and the LPR.

Pensions, salaries and social benefits, as well as humanitarian assistance, continue to be provided in the DPR by the Russian Federation, therefore the stoppage of food supplies by the UN is not critical. Denis Pushilin stresses need for parity between parties to observe truce

On December 5, in Minsk, the regular meeting of the Contact Group on the peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass was held. The agenda of the meeting included issues of compliance with the ceasefire regime, the implementation of agreements on the withdrawal of prohibited weapons and the disengagement of forces and facilities. A discussion of the conditions for preparing the exchange of prisoners also took place.
