Finalists of republican contest ‘Person of the Year 2019’ awarded in Donetsk
On January 23, the capital’s Centre for Slavic Culture, with the support of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, hosted the final of the republican contest “Person of the Year 2019”. DPR Head Denis Pushilin, People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka, deputies, representatives of ministries, departments, public movements and organizations attended the event.
The Head of the Republic delivered an opening speech to the event participants.
“We all know that, no doubt, people have always been and still are Donbass’ main fortune. The Republican contest “Person of the Year” is a truly special event. This is recognition of achievements in various spheres. Today, people from different cities and different professions will take the stage, but they are all united by an active civic stance, professionalism, and true service to the Republic. I am very happy for the current winners. I can say that they inspire to new exploits, new achievements. I would like to wish them new achievements for the benefit of the Donetsk People’s Republic!” Denis Pushilin said.
The Head of State awarded the winners in the nominations “Defender of the Republic”, “On Guard for Law and Order” and “Young Leader of the Year”.
Vladimir Bidyovka thanked the finalists for their active civic stance.
“There is no doubt that Republic’s biggest fortune is its people: strong, courageous, proactive, with a firm civic stance, capable of everything for the sake of their country. I am glad and proud that I was honoured to shake hands with people who, in 2019, made a significant contribution to the development of our state and its future.
Heroes are among us, and the Republic is proud of them,” the Speaker of Parliament said.
The People’s Council Chairman presented honorary diplomas in the nominations “Deed of the Year”, “Leader” and “Doctor of the Year”.
