First meeting of Civic Chamber held in Republic’s capital

On June 20, in Donetsk, the first meeting of the Civic Chamber of the Donetsk People’s Republic was held. The event was attended by DPR Head Denis Pushilin, DPR People’s Council Chairman Vladimir Bidyovka, chief of the DPR Head Administration Alexey Nikonorov, head of the Directorate of Internal Policy of the DPR Head Olga Pozdnyakova, deputies of the People’s Council, as well as heads of ministries and departments.

Before the meeting, the Head of the Republic addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.

“I am glad to welcome you at the first meeting of the Civic Chamber of the Donetsk People’s Republic! This is a significant event in the public and political life of our state, the next stage of the formation and development of the Donetsk People’s Republic’s state system.

You are entrusted with the most important task of ensuring a direct dialogue between our citizens and the country’s leadership, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of citizens of the Republic, public control over law-making and respect for the principles of democracy, freedom and conscience in the implementation of state policy.

The creation of the Civic Chamber is a sign of maturity of our state, a sign that the basis of the state machine has been created, is functioning and successfully developing,” Denis Pushilin noted.

In a comment to the press service of the People’s Council, Speaker of Parliament Vladimir Bidyovka joined the congratulations.

“Today, the first meeting of the Civic Chamber was held – this is a long-awaited event that meets modern demands of society regarding the participation of citizens of the Republic in the development of the state.

The Civic Chamber has promising goals. I believe that systematic work on their implementation will indeed have a positive effect for the Donetsk People’s Republic,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.
