Heads of DPR and RSO Parliaments discuss prospects of interparliamentary cooperation (video)
On September 30, 2016, a roundtable on the subject of interparliamentary cooperation of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia took place in Donetsk. The event was attended by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Denis Pushilin and the Chairman of the Parliament of South Ossetia Anatoly Bibilov.
The Deputy Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Olga Makeyeva, leaders of deputy factions in the People’s Council Alexander Kostenko and Alexander Malkov, the deputy of the Republic of South Ossetia Parliament Amiran Dyakonov also took part in the negotiations.
During the meeting they discussed issues related to further interparliamentary cooperation as well as issues of cultural and sports cooperation between the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Republic of South Ossetia.
“I am pleased to host our guests from the Republic of South Ossetia. Our today’s meeting is devoted to more detailed consideration of possible cooperation in terms of cultural trends, sports activites organization.
Our Republics are very close in relation to us (on the part of other states – Ed.) in the process of establishment. So it turns out that we have common enemies and common friends. Therefore, we should move into the future together, and our cooperation will only go up to the next level,” Denis Pushilin said.
Anatoly Bibilov noted that today’s relationships that are being formed between the two friendly Republics can be called really good.
“I think that the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republic today are just at the tip of the geopolitical interests of Western countries. But all of this global redistribution of some areas, unfortunately, affects the lives of ordinary citizens who want to live in peace, kindness and understanding. Just at this level we plan to carry out the activities that would dispose people to be calm and mind peaceful creation,” stressed the Head of the Parliament of South Ossetia.
