The envoy stressed the importance of providing access to public experts to sites of increased environmental and technological hazards and critical infrastructure.

ʺIt is important that meetings of negotiators of all subgroups are held. In particular, it is very gratifying that the work of the subgroup on economic issues has been resumed. The issue of exchange of prisoners was raised at the meeting of the subgroup on humanitarian affairs and the threat of an environmental and man-made disaster was addressed during the meeting.

This issue is a part of the humanitarian programme that has been presented by the heads of the republics. It provides for work with a part of Donbass being controlled by Kiev and is aimed at rebuilding links and paying pensions, social benefits to citizens on the other side of the demarcation line. The main section of the programme is to ensure the safety of citizens and to prevent environmental and technological disasters that may arise,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
