Maxim Parshin: Strict implementation of Minsk agreements is the way to peace in Donbass
Peaceful settlement of the conflict in the Donbass is possible only if the Minsk agreements are strictly implemented. Such an opinion in an interview with the Donetsk News Agency was expressed by the deputy of the People’s Council Maxim Parshin, commenting on the appeal of the Donbass residents to the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky.
“The way to peace in the Donbass is possible with the strict implementation of the Minsk agreements. The DPR adheres to this course. Having come to power, President Zelensky publicly stated that the Donbass would not receive a special political status, that he would not sign the law on amnesty, would not negotiate with representatives of the DPR and the LPR, and did not plan to repeal the law on language.
Therefore, I supported the initiative of the Donbass residents, who appealed to the Ukrainian leader to stop the war and recognize our right to self-determination,” the parliamentarian said.
The deputy reminded that within the framework of the “Choice of Donbass” campaign, residents of the Republics are calling on Ukraine to cease fire, resume pension payments, recognize the right to language self-determination and integration with Russia.
