‘Means to reduce escalation level’: Denis Pushilin on ‘school truce’
The 23rd concluded ceasefire does not guarantee a complete armistice, it will only reduce the amount of shelling and the level of escalation of the conflict. This was stated by the Chairman of DPR People’s Council, Permanent Representative of the DPR at the talks of the Contact Group in Minsk Denis Pushilin in his interview to the television channel “Oplot TV”.
“In fact, the truce is an agreement to reduce the amount of shelling, but it is also valuable. We value every human life and do our best from the available arsenal of means to reduce the level of escalation.
On the part of Ukraine there is sabotage, and it is not even sabotage of our requirements, but the requirements of the OSCE SMM, which we support. Ukraine does not follow steps that could strengthen the agreements, serve as their kind of backups, starting with the publication of ceasefire orders and ending with the technical details of the agreements. There is no political solution to this. And those negotiators who are in Minsk, even when they understand that our position is reasoned, cannot go for it, because they have no right to make decisions,” Denis Pushilin said.
