Miroslav Rudenko: Ukraine should remember that Donbass’ inhabitants have right freely to decide their own future

The President of Ukraine Zelensky should listen to the people of Donbass and recognize their right to choose their own future and not follow nationalists. This was stated by Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Miroslav Rudenko in a commentary to the official website of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

ʺI would like to appeal to Mr. Zelensky, who promised to listen to all protesters: Vladimir Alexandrovich, please, show respect to the inhabitants of Donbass, who have a right to choose their own future. After all, unlike the nationalists, who are standing under the building of your administration, they do not call to kill anyone or carry out purges among the population. We just want to live on our land, by our laws,ʺ the deputy said.

Commenting on events in Kiev that took place after the signing of the Steinmeier formula by Ukraine, namely, a rally near the Ukrainian president’s office, which was attended by nationalists, who disagreed with this decision, as well as Zelensky’s statement about him respecting citizens’ right to protest, Miroslav Rudenko also added that Ukrainian nationalists continued demonstrating inability to negotiate.

ʺThey have always had hostile attitude towards the recognition of People’s Republics’ right to self-determination. However, the current leader of Ukraine is struggling to prove that he is the president of peace, not war. By the way, the former President, Petro Poroshenko also repeatedly stated the same, but the war never stopped even for a day,ʺ Miroslav Rudenko stressed.
