Officials attend presentation of ‘Donbass. Outskirts’ film

On June 10, the capital’s Zvyozdochka cinema hosted a presentation of the “Donbass. Outskirts” film. The event was attended by the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin, the Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, the deputies of the People’s Council, and the director of the film Renat Davletyarov.

The DPR Head noted that this film was the first Russian feature film about events in the Donbass.

“Dear friends! Today is really an important event for the Donetsk People’s Republic, and for the Donbass as a whole, because the first Russian-made feature film about the Donbass is to be featured.

There are still a lot of documentaries about the Donbass being filmed, but, probably, the artistic re-thinking, the artistic perception of the author can penetrate deeper – into the very heart.

It is very important for all of us that the events that take place here are talked about on every platform. If this is really filmed with the soul, with an understanding of the processes taking place, then this is triple value. Thank you!” Denis Pushilin said.

In a comment to the press service of the People’s Council, Parliament Speaker Vladimir Bidyovka noted the high level of work that Russian cinematographers have done.

“Today I was lucky to attend the premiere of the “Donbass. Outskirts” film directed by Renat Davletyarov. It is very important that the film uses the real sequences, that is, it shows what really happened in 2014. This picture was presented at various international film festivals – and this is also important. I believe that this is a good way to show the world community the truth about the events in the Donbass,” the Chairman of the People’s Council said.
