Olga Makeyeva: Republic’s political recognition is mandatory and irreversible process
In the interview to the journalist of the Union TV channel, Deputy Chairman of the DPR People’s Council Olga Makeyeva spoke about the prospects for the recognition of the Donetsk People’s Republic by the world political community.
“Political recognition of the Republic is a mandatory and irreversible process. The time is the only issue. This is indicated by the facts.
Thus, the French court refused to close the representation of the DPR in France, no matter how the leadership of Ukraine insisted on closing. At the same time I want to remind you that France is a member of the “Normandy format”.
I will also remind you that during the celebration of the Day of the Republic this year, representatives of 12 countries of the world came to take part in these celebrations. Foreign guests saw with their own eyes the 35,000-strong march, saw everything that was going on in our country, were able to assess the processes that are taking place in the Republic: whether they are democratic, whether they are liberal. They were able to see for themselves and understand whether it is worth believing that hysteria that representatives of Ukraine constantly demonstrate.
Another sign that the political recognition of the DPR and the LPR is around the corner is the desire of foreign states to send their representatives as observers for the 11 November elections. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPR has already received 50 such applications.
I repeat once again: representatives of other states are interested to know what is happening here, they want to see our life with their own eyes and, having seen it, tell the truth to the citizens of their countries,” said the Vice-Speaker.
Olga Makeyeva also shared the results in the field of state construction of the Republic, which were achieved thanks to the initiatives of the Acting Head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin.
“For a month of life of the Republic under the leadership of the Acting Head of the Republic, Denis Pushilin, a lot was done. Firstly, the excise rate on fuel was reduced three-fold. This will provide an opportunity to reduce food prices, it will give a new push to the development of the economy as a whole. Secondly, from November 1, wages to public sector employees will be raised. Thirdly, a law was passed exempting the families of those killed in the defence of the DPR from paying utility bills. Fourthly, a branch of the International Cover Bank is to be opened on the territory of the DPR. Fifthly, a tough course has been announced to fight corruption, there are already a number of detentions,” the Vice-Speaker said.
She added that, thanks to the Acting DPR Head, Denis Pushilin, the work of the Council of Ministers became transparent for the citizens of the Republic.
“It should be noted that the work of the Council of Ministers has become more transparent and understandable. After each meeting, the public is informed about the decisions that have been taken.
I emphasize that all the work of the Council of Ministers is aimed at normalizing the economic situation, at improving the quality of life of our citizens,” Olga Makeyeva summarized.
