Olga Makeyeva: West will continue to create facade of support for Kiev regime at UN

Elections of the Head of State and deputies of the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic comply with international law, Olga Makeyeva, Deputy Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, told RIA Novosti.

Earlier, a UN source in diplomatic circles told RIA Novosti that the United Nations Security Council was to hold a meeting on Tuesday at which it would discuss the elections scheduled for November 11 in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

“With a high degree of probability, all those who are involved in the coup d’état in Ukraine, at today’s meeting in the UN Security Council, will condemn the elections in the Donbass. When on international platforms, they need to create the facade of support for the Kiev regime, which they also brought to power,” Olga Makeyeva says.

According to her, “each of the representatives of the West has their own benefit from it.”

“The IMF receives good dividends, Europe – the Ukrainian timber, foreign companies – land for next to nothing, while the Ukrainian government is completely under the control of European and American ‘partners’. For all the time, none of the representatives of the [leadership of] Western countries did anything to help resolve the conflict and establish peace in the Donbass,” Olga Makeyeva noted.

She added that the election of the Head of State and the Parliament and the DPR “fully complies with international law and the legislation of the DPR.”
