Parliament Speaker Vladimir Bidyovka hears reports regarding activities of South Ossetia’s Parliament of VI convocation
On May 17, a delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic arrived in the city of Tskhinvali of the Republic of South Ossetia on a working visit. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, Vladimir Bidyovka, and was included deputies of the People’s Council Vladislav Berdichevsky and Natalia Pshenichnaya.
During the visit, parliamentarians took part in a solemn meeting devoted to the completion of the parliament work, during which reports on the activities of the parliament of the sixth convocation were presented.
The speaker of the parliament thanked the colleagues for the opportunity given to the DPR delegation to share a significant event, wished to achieve the most ambitious goals and prosperity of the Republic.
“Close relations connect our states from the first days of the creation of the Donetsk People’s Republic. For five years we have taken serious steps to fully strengthen and enhance cooperation at various levels.
The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance, the Memorandum of Intent between the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia on interparliamentary cooperation, and the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations were signed. Also a significant step was the signing on March 5 of this year of the Cooperation Agreement between the DPR People’s Council – the Parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Parliament of the Republic of South Ossetia.
We have long felt the comradely shoulder of each other, and, I am deeply convinced of this, in this way we are helping our states develop and flourish. Today we are glad to be in this chamber together with you, friends, and learn about your successes in legislative activity, to share the joy from new achievements and accomplishments of the Republic of South Ossetia. I am sure that in the future your state will have even greater success and new victories – I wish you to achieve all the goals and prosperity of your Republic,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.
Also during the visit, the DPR delegation participated in the solemn laying of flowers at the memorial to the victims of Georgian aggression, which is located on the territory of School No. 5, from 1989 to 1992.
Elections of parliament deputies of the VII convocation will be held on June 9. Deputies will be elected for the first time by a mixed majoritarian-proportional system: half of the parliamentarians are to be elected through party lists, the other half – by single-mandate constituencies. Previously, elections were held only by party lists.
