On May 7, the first session of the Youth Parliament was held in the Plenary Hall of the DPR’s People’s Council. The event was attended by the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, People’s Council’s Deputies Eugene Ilyenko, Kirill Makarov and Roman Udalov, representatives of ministries and departments.
The Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin urged the deputies of the Youth Parliament to be responsible in the achievement of set objectives in his address.
ʺYou are the first parliament and the first one always has it tougher. This is special responsibility, work, which requires total commitment. I want you to consider that you will be under intense spotlight. I want you to remember that this is not a game or temporary occupation, which can be relegated to the background. You are facing a number of important tasks on the formation of the youth policy of the Donetsk People’s Republic, creation of personnel reserve, development of our youth’s self-fulfilment and many other things.
You will build the future of our state with your own hands and therefore you have to be guided by the principles of justice, equality and popular sovereignty.
Folks! You are taking the first important steps in the sphere of parliamentarism and I wish you success in your work. Good luck!,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.
The Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka described in an interview with the press how the joint work of the Youth Parliament and the People’s Council would be aligned.
ʺFirst and foremost, I would like to note that today is a day, when an important stage in the implementation of the “Youth Parliament” project commences, the project, which was launched by youth. The first plenary session concluded and I want to congratulate them on this occasion and wish fruitful work. I want to point out that they need to understand responsibility, because much depends on them, in particular, formulation of suggestions concerning youth policy and patriotic education.
Today, having acquainted with them, I will tell you with absolute certainty that they will succeed. Despite the fact that they will have to comprehend a lot of new things and, according to their presentations, they have potential.
I would like to add that the deputies of the People’s Council will provide every possible assistance to the young deputies, I believe that they have to be involved in work with deputies in districts in order to understand issues not only in the sphere of youth policy. The Youth Parliament will not be left without consultation or necessary assistance,ʺ Vladimir Bidyovka noted.
