Representatives of DPR and Republic of Crimea of Russian Federation sign Inter-parliamentary Cooperation Agreement
On January 18, following the results of a working meeting of the official DPR delegation with Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, an Agreement on Cooperation between the State Council of the Republic of Crimea – the Parliament of the Republic of Crimea and the People’s Council of the Donetsk People’s Republic – the Parliament of the Donetsk People’s Republic was signed.
The document was signed by Vladimir Konstantinov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, and Vladimir Bidyovka, Chairman of the People’s Council of Donetsk People’s Republic. The signing was also attended by the DPR Head, Denis Pushilin, the head of the Donetsk Republic faction, the Chairman of the People’s Council Committee on Agriculture and Land Resources, Valery Skorokhodov and the Chairman of the People’s Council Committee on the Development of Civil Society, Social and Religious Associations, the Chairman of the DPR Federation of Trade Unions Maxim Parshin.
In a comment to the press service of the People’s Council, Vladimir Bidyovka noted the historical symbolism of the signed agreement.
“Today, the Cooperation Agreement was signed between the parliaments of the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Republic of Crimea. Its main goal is to strengthen interaction in the issue of inter-parliamentary cooperation, exchange of experience in legislative activity, as well as the comprehensive strengthening of friendship and ties.
I consider it significant that the signing of this Agreement between our Republics took place on the day of the 365th anniversary of Pereyaslavl Council, since this historical fact is connected with the integration with Russia. And today, the Donetsk People’s Republic, represented by the People’s Council, has secured a link with the Republic of Crimea, a constituent entity of the Russian Federation,” Vladimir Bidyovka said.
According to DPR Head Denis Pushilin, the Cooperation Agreement will contribute to effective interaction in the field of law-making.
“The Inter-parliamentary Agreement is aimed at strengthening historical, cultural and patriotic ties and will serve to expand cooperation and exchange experience in the field of law-making.
The Speaker of the DPR Parliament added that today an agreement on the establishment of twinning city relations between the cities of Makeyevka and Kerch, Lugansk and Yalta was also signed.
“I want to note that the strengthening of cooperation with Russia has always been and remains a priority for our state, since our peoples are inextricably linked by one language, one faith, one truth. I consider it extremely important to strengthen our cooperation, as well as develop integration processes, and confirmation of this is the signing of several agreements at once during the visit of the delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic to the Crimea.
I am deeply convinced that the agreements signed today will bring our cooperation to a new level and will positively influence the development of the Republics in the near future,” Vladimir Bidyovka concluded.
We shall remind that, earlier today, the official delegation of the Donetsk People’s Republic has taken part in the solemn meeting devoted to the 365th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Council.
