On May 4, a solemn oath taking by the members of the military and patriotic movement “Young Guard – Young Army” took place in the park of Leninist Komsomol near the memorial site “To your liberators, Donbass!”.

The event was attended by the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, People’s Council’s deputies, Deputy Head of the People’s Militia’s Department Colonel Eduard Basurin, representatives of ministries and departments, veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

In addressing the event attendees, the Head of the Republic congratulated the Young Army’s cadets on the landmark event.

ʺYoung Army’s cadets, I congratulate you on this solemn day of oath taking! Today, you have the most important event – you are swearing allegiance to the Motherland and the people of the Donetsk People’s Republic. I am sure that this event will become one of the most important in your life. Today, your life will change completely. You are not just young citizens of the Donetsk People’s Republic, you are the cadets of the Young Army!

This title must be worn with honour. Some of you will be marching in a parade dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day with the heroes, who were to more than one battle.

You have chosen a difficult path! It is an honour to walk this path! I believe that most of you, committing your life to serving your Motherland, will pursue this important cause for our state in the future. Good luck!, ʺ Denis Pushilin said.

The Speaker of the Parliament Vladimir Bidyovka noted that oath taking was a particular day, which would provide a foundation for moral and ethical landmarks, which a soldier must meet.

ʺDear cadets of the Young Army! I congratulate you on the solemn day of oath taking.

First and foremost, I would like to note that the issue of patriotic education of youth is extremely urgent in the modern world: unfortunately, we see that there is a tendency to distort historical facts, deny history and glorify those, who fought against the Soviet Liberation Army, in some countries. It is important to bring the truth and convey it to younger generations.

Today, each of you has taken an oath, which means that you stood up for our historical heritage and truth. We believe that we will not only preserve our history, but also popularize the desire to preserve and study our historical heritage among youth. I am sure that these priorities are worthy enough for a modern young generation.

I congratulate you on this occasion, because oath taking is a special day in your life, which, undoubtedly, will be remembered for the rest of your life. I am certain that you will fulfil everything what the oath says,ʺ Vladimir Bidyovka said.
