Security subgroup members negotiate document on weapons’ withdrawal from demarcation line

On September 20, 2016, the Chairman of the DPR People’s Council, the plenipotentiary representative of the DPR in Trilateral contact group at negotiations in Minsk Denis Pushilin commented on positive progress in the subgroup’s work on the security of the Contact group on resolving the situation in Donbass.

According to the plenipotentiary representative, the security subgroup members negotiated the document on weapons’ withdrawal from demarcation line.

ʺThe signing of this document will help to intensify and consolidate the ceasefire, the situation will move from armistice to peace,ʺ Denis Pushilin said.

He added that the mood of Kiev representatives had seriously changed: they looked forward to a positive result of the negotiations.

ʺWe have seen other Ukrainian representatives today, they look forward to the result. Consequently, Ukraine agreed to the compromise proposal after some adjustments. This document suits the republics adequately,ʺ Denis Pushilin explained.
