ʺPlease accept my warmest congratulations with the 88th anniversary of the founding of your higher educational institution! Your university has glorious traditions, it was created back in 1930 by the decision of the Council of People’s Commissars of the USSR. The medical institute in Stalino was one of five higher educational institutions in the Soviet Ukraine that prepared high-class doctors in various fields.
During the Great Patriotic War and in peacetime, the higher-education teaching personnel, students and graduates of the Donetsk Medical University were creating a distinguished history of the university that became known not only in the post-Soviet space, but also abroad.
Without a doubt, a doctor is one of the most demanded professions throughout the history of mankind. In addition to the high level of knowledge and practical skills, a doctor is required to have the highest level of responsibility, because a doctor has the most valuable thing in his hands – human life.
Dear friends! Today, your university is a talent foundry for the medical institutions of the Donetsk People’s Republic. I am sure that the glorious traditions of your university and a decent level of teaching will allow training doctors of the highest qualification.
I wish the entire personnel of the university strong health, inexhaustible vital forces, well-being and peace, new scientific achievements and labour victories,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.
The rector of the university Gregory Ignatenko, for his part, underlined that the education of medical personnel is the main concern of the university staff.
ʺThe development of health-care workforce has always been and is a priority direction of work of the Donetsk National Medical University, because the prospect of development of health directly depends on quality of their preparation.
