Speaker of Parliament Vladimir Bidyovka participates in rally dedicated to 33th anniversary of Chernobyl tragedy
On April 26, a rally dedicated to the 33th anniversary of the Chernobyl tragedy took place at the Memorial of Chernobyl Glory to the participants in disaster consequences liquidation at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. The event was attended by the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka and the People’s Council’s deputies.
The Speaker of the Parliament noted in a commentary to the press service of the People’s Council that the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power station remained to be the largest nuclear catastrophe in the world history.
ʺThe accident at the Chernobyl NPP is one of the most large-scale technological catastrophes of the 20th century. This event is filled with the pain of loss and incredible stories about heroism.
Many liquidators lost their health and lives by eliminating the consequences of that fatal explosion. There were our compatriots from Donbass among them, who jumped into a hotspot in order to save the world. They are heroes, who placed the lives of millions of people above their own, and they are the people, who performed a great deed.
Our goal is not only to remember those who perished saving the future of the planet, but also to pass on history of their heroism from generation to generation. We express honour and praise to all alive and fallen disaster relief workers at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant,ʺ Vladimir Bidyovka said.
