On February 18, the Chairman of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka participates in a meeting called “The flame of memory will not fade” and dedicated to the fourth anniversary of the end of the Debaltsevo-Chernukhino operation in the framework of an official visit to the Lugansk People’s Republic.
The event was as well attended by the Head of the LPR Leonid Pasechnik, Chairman of the LPR’s People’s Council Denis Miroshnichenko, DPR’s People’s Council’s deputies Vladislav Berdichevsky and Alexander Bykadorov, LPR’s People’s Council’s deputies, Minister of Internal Affairs of the LPR Igor Kornet.
Vladimir Bidyovka read the Opening address of the Head of the DPR Denis Pushilin during a solemn ceremony.
ʺThe liberation of Chernukhino and Debaltsevo is one of the main joint victories of the fraternal Republics. Our soldiers showed fortitude and moral courage, heroism and bravery, undying faith in ideas for which we fight. We managed to save the lives of thousands of our people, defend the strategically important part of our territories. <…>
The victory was achieved through a heavy price for the brotherly Republics. Hundreds of our soldiers and civilians were killed. We honour the memory of the fallen defenders and liberators with immense gratitude and deep sorrow today. The memory of the feat accomplished by our brothers will always be in our hearts,ʺ the text of the letter said.
Vladimir Bidyovka noted in an interview with the press that the Chernukhino-Debaltsevo operation was the first joint military operation of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.
ʺThe Chernukhino-Debaltsevo operation is the first large-scale offensive operation, which was carried out jointly by the soldiers of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. This historic victory has led not only to the liberation of our territories, the villages of the LPR and DPR, but also to significant consequences on the world scene.
The Minsk agreements, for which the UN Security Council voted, are also an indirect consequence of this operation. But the most important thing is that our soldiers fought beside each other sacrificing their lives and health – they advanced onwards to victory. Unfortunately, some of them did not come back from battlefields, but the memory of them always will be with us, they will never be forgotten – they wrote their names with golden letters in the history of our Republics,ʺ the Speaker of the Parliament said.
