Trade union organizations’ workers congratulated on their professional holiday in Donetsk
On February 20, a series of solemn events took place in the capital of the Republic, dedicated to Trade Union Workers Day, as well as to the fifth anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Donetsk People’s Republic. The events were attended by the DPR People’s Council Chairman, Vladimir Bidyovka, deputies, representatives of ministries and departments of the Republic, as well as guests from the Lugansk People’s Republic and the Russian Federation. Chairman of the DPR Federation of Trade Unions Maxim Parshin moderated the events.
Speaking during the solemn part of the event on the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Trade Unions, Vladimir Bidyovka noted the crucial importance of the trade union movement in the Donetsk People’s Republic.
“Dear colleagues! First of all, I want to congratulate you on the upcoming professional holiday and on the fifth anniversary of the founding of the trade union movement. Trade unions play an important role both in society and in the process of building the state, because it is you who stand up for the protection of the rights of a working person.
I am glad that the trade union movement and the People’s Council cooperate closely, for which I thank you deeply. I am convinced that the trade union movement will always be a reliable pillar of a working person and the state,” the Speaker of Parliament said.
Vladimir Bidyovka also drew participants’ attention to false documents spreading on the Internet and called for a responsible approach to such situations.
“Seizing this opportunity, I would like to discuss with you the yesterday’s incident. A fake decree of the People’s Council has appeared on the Internet, stating that an extraordinary plenary meeting will be held this Friday, at which parliament will decrease miners’ day rates.
I draw your attention to the fact that this is a blatant provocation. A scheduled plenary meeting will be held on Friday, during which we, of course, will not raise issues related to rate cuts. I would like to remind you that reducing and increasing day rates is not a People’s Council function; we are not endowed with such powers.
Please convey this information to work collectives today. Also, please do not forget that we live in wartime, and the information war is a significant part of the military conflict,” the Chairman of the People’s Council emphasised.
During the solemn part of the event, Vladimir Bidyovka presented acknowledgements to the trade union officials for their fruitful work on improving the legislation and developing the trade union movement of the Donetsk People’s Republic, resolving the socioeconomic issues of workers – trade union members, zealous social and political activities, and also due to the fifth anniversary of the creation of the Federation of Trade Unions.
