Valery Skorokhodov: Poroshenko intends to rig results of presidential elections using lobbying power

The current Ukrainian president Petro Poroshenko is looking forward to rig the results of elections by proposing himself as a candidate for a second term. The DPR’s People’s Council deputy, Chairman of the “Donetsk Republic” faction Valery Skorokhodov shared his opinion with the Donetsk News Agency.

ʺPoroshenko is looking forward to rig the results of the elections in order to seek re-election. He has huge lobbying power and repressive machine, which will pacify fellow citizens dissatisfied with the results of the presidential elections. In addition, he is also looking forward to receive the support of overseas handlers setting hopes on a right picture in the Western mass media,ʺ Valery Skorokhodov underlined.

According to the deputy, Poroshenko is supported by people, who are interested in the continuation of the conflict in Donbass and escalation of anti-Russian hysteria, including among Western high-ranking officials.

ʺIt is only natural that the Republic of Donbass is not satisfied with the situation, when the neighbouring state is not just aggressive, but also conducts a war and shells residential quarters with civilians. It is not worth having the illusion that Poroshenko wants to end the war,ʺ Valery Skorokhodov said.

According the deputy, Poroshenko has practically no chances to win in fair elections, since “people will vote not for a particular candidate, as all of them have an identical Russophobic agenda, but they will vote against the incumbent president having had enough of the so-called radiant future”.
