Valery Skorokhodov: Ukraine in tune for carrying out provocations to disrupt Minsk agreements

The murder of the Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Alexander Zakharchenko can be considered political, aimed at disrupting the Minsk agreements, deputy of the DPR People’s Council Valery Skorokhodov told RIA Novosti.

“Many of my colleagues agree that the political assassination of the DPR Head is aimed at disrupting the Minsk agreements. Let me remind you that Alexander Zakharchenko’s signed these agreements. He was the one who was interested in their performance, which cannot be said about the Ukrainian party,” Valery Skorokhodov said.

He recalled that Kiev has blocked the exchange of prisoners, sabotaged agreements to maintain the ceasefire, the issue of renewing pensions for Donbass residents has been frozen.

“In this regard, naturally, Ukraine is not tuned for a constructive dialogue, but for committing provocations to thwart the Minsk agreements so inconvenient for them. But the Ukrainian policy of terror will not remain unanswered,” he added.

The Head of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Alexander Zakharchenko, died tragically on Friday, August 31, as a result of a terrorist attack in the centre of Donetsk. The farewell ceremony with the leader of the state took place on September 2 in the Donetsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre named after A.B. Solovyanenko. Over 200 thousand residents of the Donetsk People’s Republic came to honour the memory of the deceased. Delegations from four countries came to the Republic on the occasion of the funeral. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin described the killing as mean-spirited and expressed the hope that the organizers and perpetrators of this crime would be deservedly punished.
