Vladimir Bidyovka: Kiev indirectly recognizes high voting turnout in DPR and LPR
The Kiev regime will not succeed in intimidating the residents of the Republics with criminal prosecution for participating in elections in the Donbass. This was stated in a commentary for the publication Ukraina.ru by deputy of the DPR People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka.
He stressed that the threats of “the Deputy Minister of Ukraine for the Occupied Territories”, Yury Grymchak, to the election organizers are useless. Residents of the DPR and the LPR cannot be intimidated by criminal prosecution after shelling by Ukrainian artillery.
“By his statement, Grymchak indirectly acknowledges that the turnout in the elections in the DPR and the LPR was high; he promises that voters will not be prosecuted by the Ukrainian authorities. In Kiev, they understand that opening criminal cases against millions of people is impossible,” Vladimir Bidyovka stressed.
The agency’s partner in conversation also added that Kiev would try to keep the topic of elections in the Donbass in the agenda as long as possible. And Ukrainian President Pyotr Poroshenko will continue to use it at international sites in his usual anti-Russian rhetoric.
Earlier, Grymchak on air of the TV channel “112 Ukraine” stated that the organizers and performers of the elections in the Donbass would be severely punished in accordance with the Criminal Code of Ukraine. He also added that sanctions against Russia for this election would soon follow.
