Vladimir Medvedev: Ukraine uses coronavirus pandemic as pretext for sabotaging Minsk agreements

Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Medvedev commented on increased shelling directed against peaceful citizens of the DPR and LPR by the UAF, despite the COVID-19 pandemic, in an interview to the RIA FAN news agency.

ʺThe critical situation around the world caused by the spread of the new coronavirus, did not induce Zelensky to stop the armed conflict in Donbass. Moreover, the shelling has become more intense, civilians keep dying. Objectively speaking, it would seem that a world-wide problem should induce Kiev politicians to peace or at least to ease the confrontation. But these logical actions were incompatible with President Zelensky and his team,ʺ the deputy noted.

Vladimir Medvedev added that Ukrainian politicians not only did not hide their irresponsibility, but had practically elevated it to the rank of advantages.

ʺRepresentatives of the party “Servant of the People” have recently come to a meeting in the Ukrainian parliament wearing T-shirts that says “We have a right to make a mistake”. What political responsibility can we talk about when politicians admit they are not competent and will make mistakes in conditions of the most severe crisis and the armed conflict? Zelensky and his supporters’ reckless policy leads Ukraine further and further into a dead-end, from which there will be no way out,ʺ the parliamentarian summed up.
