Vladimir Medvedev: Zelensky is afraid of direct negotiations with DPR and LPR

Zelensky’s statements on direct dialogue with representatives of the People’s Republics of Donbass make a pathetic impression. This was stated by Deputy of the DPR’s People’s Council Vladimir Medvedev in an interview to RIA Novosti.

ʺAn agreement on three separation sites instead of the withdrawal of forces and means demonstrates a lack of will on the part of the Ukrainian president and his fear of nationalist battalions. Zelensky still does not make real steps towards peace. His statements that he is ready to negotiate and he is already having a dialogue with the people of Donbass, sound, frankly speaking, pathetic,ʺ the deputy said.

Vladimir Medvedev recalled Andrey Yermak’s absurd proposition to replace negotiators from the DPR and LPR with representatives from the territories of Donbass temporarily controlled by Ukraine.

ʺWe remember Andrey Yermak’s statement on the eve of a meeting in the Normandy format, in which he proposed to replace the representatives of the DPR and LPR with some representatives of Donbass from the territories that are under control of Ukraine. Perhaps, Zelensky communicates with these so-called experts, but it has nothing to do with real negotiations.

The Ukrainian president is clearly afraid of direct negotiations with the People’s Republics and therefore makes statements, which exceed the bounds of negotiation process,ʺ the deputy highlighted.
