Vladislav Berdichevsky: Ukraine should remember about Tskhinvali

Ukraine, just like Georgia in 2008, counts in vain on the US in case of the intensification of the conflict in Donbass. This was stated by the Deputy Chairman of the People’s Council’s Committee on Foreign Policy, International Relations, Information Policy and Technology Vladislav Berdichevsky in an interview with “PolitNavigator”.

According to him, the conflict in South Ossetia lasted many years and Georgia, just like Ukraine now, was constantly sabotaging negotiations and did not comply with the agreements reached.

ʺGeorgia back then, like Ukraine now, violated all agreements, provoked, Georgian snipers shot at peaceful citizens. August 2008 was the culmination of all this,ʺ Vladislav Berdichevsky said.

He underlined that Georgia’s reliance on assistance from the US was flawed and Georgia got a five-day war instead of the support of the Western “partners”.

ʺUkraine acts the same way as Georgia, hoping for the support of the US at a critical time. There was no support back then and there will be no support now. Let them remember Tskhinvali,ʺ a deputy summed up.
