Winners of Republican contest “Man of the Year – 2018” presented awards in Donetsk

On January 25, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the annual Republican contest “Man of the Year” took place in the capital’s Centre of Slavic Culture. The event was attended by DPR Head Denis Pushilin, Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka, deputies of the People’s Council, representatives of ministries, departments, city and district administrations, and public figures.

DPR Head Denis Pushilin noted the importance of attracting young professionals to the process of statecraft.

“I am proud that such talented and active young people are brought up in our Republic. Here, all the doors are open for young people, and it is from the youth that we are awaiting something new, especially now, when there is a very good and proper initiative – the creation of a Youth Parliament. This issue is being elaborated by the public organization “Young Republic”. I believe that this initiative will be useful to us in terms of creating a personnel pool and will play its role in the integration processes with the Russian Federation,” the Head of the Republic stated.

Vladimir Bidyovka joined the congratulations and thanked the winners of the competition for their perseverance and courage.

“Life does not stand still, throwing new challenges at our Homeland, but one thing remains unchanged for many years – the strength and simultaneous magnanimity of our people.

I am sincerely proud that today I have the honour to personally shake hands with those people who, through their conscientious work, have proved that there are no insurmountable obstacles on the way to the goal. They have given a piece of their soul, making our Republic, our mutual home, even better.

Each of those who deserve the high title of “Man of the Year” is a worthy example of courage and perseverance. Heroes are among us, and today we only confirm this,” the Speaker of Parliament said.

During the ceremony, the Head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, awarded the winners in such nominations as “Defender of the Republic”, “On Guard of Law and Order”, “Young Leader of the Year”, “Deed of the Year”.

Chairman of the People’s Council Vladimir Bidyovka congratulated the winners in the nominations “For Achievements in the Field of Journalism”, “Leader”, “Hope of the Republic”.

The DPR Minister of Information, Igor Antipov, awarded the winners in the nominations “For Achievements in the Field of Culture”, “For Achievements in the Field of Physical Culture”, and “For Achievements in the Field of Education”.

The DPR Minister of Labour and Social Policy, Larisa Tolstykina, awarded the winners in the categories “Open Heart”, “Doctor of the Year”, and “For Achievements in the Field of Healthcare”.

The DPR Minister of Economic Development, Alexey Polovyan, congratulated the winners in the nominations “For Achievements in the Field of agriculture”, “For Achievements in the Sphere of Public Utilities”, “For Achievements in the Field of Entrepreneurship”, and “For Achievements in the Field of Industry”.
