Yuri Pokintelitsa: Kiev power demonstrates brazen disregard for needs of Donbass’ miners
A deputy Yuri Pokintelitsa commented on an announcement made by the Head of the Independent Miners’ Union of Ukraine Mikhail Volynets about the miners of the coal mine “Kurakhovskaya”, which was owned by the state enterprise “Selidovugol”, demanding to pay wage arrears in an interview to the Donetsk News Agency.
ʺElectricity and heat tariffs have increased tenfold since 2014, and no one is going to pay wages to those, who dig for coal to satisfy the needs of utility companies. If someone had hopes that the situation in Ukraine would change for the better with the arrival of a new political team, then those hopes were not realized,ʺ the deputy said.
The deputy underlined that this issue in the light of the pressing demand for coal in order to produce electricity and to prepare for the upcoming heating season in the country was perplexing.
